Spend the Day at NDA

Thank you for your interest in Notre Dame Academy.  Since 1903, Notre Dame Academy has embodied the tradition of leadership and excellence in the education of young women on Staten Island.

We warmly invite all students who are interested in attending Notre Dame Academy Elementary School to schedule a Spend the Day at NDA Visit as a part of the application process.  We have a shortened experience for our younger prospective students.

Please note:  If your daughter is in the 8th grade and is interested in shadowing a 9th grader at Notre Dame Academy High School, please contact Jessica Vulpis at (718) 447-8878 ext. 501.

The Spend the Day at NDA Visit is an important part of our admissions process.  Students benefit from experiencing the school alive with enthusiasm on a typical day and making friends with their prospective classmates.  Faculty and staff enjoy getting to know our visiting students and observing them as they acclimate to our academic environment.

How the Visit is Arranged

Shadow Day Visit for Students Applying to Grades 2 to 6

Parents/guardians are expected to schedule a Shadow Day visit for their daughter(s) as a part of the application process.

Shadow Day visit hours are 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Students should be prepared to spend a full day of school, including lunch.  Students should pack a lunch or bring money to purchase lunch from our cafeteria service.

Our teachers and students aim to ensure that the shadow experience will be positive, informative, and fun.

Each visiting student will be assigned a “shadow” classmate to guide her through a typical day at NDA.

Evaluations and assessments will be made by the teacher during this visit.

It is advised that parents schedule their interview with the principal on the day of their daughter’s Shadow Day visit.
